Prior to founding Alexander Law Offices, Ms. Alexander defended the rights of disabled children at the Rutgers Child Advocacy Clinic and helped children receive the special education services they are entitled to from public schools.

As a fellow at the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), she became conversant in many of the financial and legal issues families face, such as when saddled with oppressive interest rates or prepayment penalties in mortgages. Financial difficulties often lead to the break up of families, which can put children at risk.

Ms. Alexander further developed her legal skills and knowledge as law clerk to the Hon. Stephen B. Rubin, J.S.C., Hunterdon County Family Court. She was inspired to see that the legal system can work for families and children. Most importantly for her clients, Ms. Alexander learned what works and what does not work in motion practice and at oral argument, and she puts these effective techniques to work for clients
